Quality Partnerships

On January 29, 2016, the Project “Partnerships for the quality and relevance of professional technical education in the field of ICT in the Republic of Moldova” was launched. The event took place in the premises of the Center of Excellence in Informatics and Information Technologies, one of the main beneficiaries of the planned interventions.

The launch event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Embassy of Austria in the Republic of Moldova, the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Moldova, the Austrian Development Agency, representatives of educational institutions, GIZ, USAID, the EU Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, ICT companies.

The project “Partnerships for the quality and relevance of vocational technical education in the field of ICT in the Republic of Moldova” is implemented by the PRO DIDACTICA Educational Center and the National Association of ICT Companies with the support of the Austrian Cooperation for Development and the Government of Romania.

The initiative aims to modernize the training process of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) specialists in professional technical education institutions and develop an educational offer adjusted to the current requirements of the industry.

The Center of Excellence in Informatics and Information Technologies will become, as a result of the implementation of the project, a high-performance educational platform, able to initiate and carry out actions to update the curriculum for ICT specialties and significantly improve the contents and teaching methods. Equipped with laboratories and modern management systems, having established a Continuous Training Department, the Center will provide the 18 educational institutions in the area with an advanced technological study environment, effective training programs for teachers, but also useful resources for teaching staff and students.

Another important direction will be the strengthening of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Professional Education by providing assistance for the development of basic standards, organizational procedures and work processes. Also, the implementers plan to carry out extensive continuous training programs for teachers and provide internship opportunities for students and teaching staff, actions that will contribute to correlating the results of the educational process with the rigors and expectations of the private sector.

“We are convinced that through this project we will be able to focus on the most important capital that Moldova has – people and their education, and that we will contribute to the creation of a greater number of jobs and ensure a sustainable development.” Gerhard Schaumberger, Head of the Office of the Austrian Development Agency in the Republic of Moldova.

Thanks to the improvements made within the project and the effective transformation of training processes in vocational schools and colleges, young people enrolled in ICT specialties will have the opportunity to accumulate relevant knowledge and develop the practical skills required on the labor market, thus benefiting from greater employment opportunities and professional growth.
